It was founded on 17 August 2007 by five (5) leading mediation centers in Asia, namely Hong Kong Mediation Centre, Indonesian Mediation Center, Malaysian International Mediation Centre (formerly Malaysian Mediation Centre), Philippine Mediation Division (formerly Philippine Mediation Center), Court Management Office, Office of the Court Administrator, and Singapore Mediation Centre.
