Manila, Philippines – The Supreme Court of the Philippines proudly announces its hosting of the 6th Asian Mediation Association (AMA) Conference on 15 to 16 October 2024 at the Shangri-La The Fort in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The Conference, bannering the Supreme Court’s Strategic Plan for Judicial Innovations 2022-2027, will revolve around the theme “Harmony and Strategic Innovations in Mediation and ADR” and will gather global experts and practitioners in mediation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR), including legal luminaries, ADR practitioners, members of the academe, and advocates from across Asia and beyond.
The AMA, established in Singapore on August 17, 2007, is a leading regional organization dedicated to the promotion and application of mediation and ADR across Asia. Founded by five prominent mediation centers, namely, Hong Kong Mediation Centre, The Indonesian Mediation Center, Malaysian Mediation Centre, The Philippine Mediation Center, and Singapore Mediation Centre, the AMA strives to enhance the proper resolution of disputes and to provide access to resources for the settlement of business and commercial disputes through close cooperation among its members. These five premier mediation centers have grown into ten with the addition of members from China, Fiji, India, Japan, and Thailand. The Association operates under its Constitution and By-laws, with each member country taking turns to chair and host the biennial conference.
